Standard Jewelry Care Guide
Having lived in the Caribbean for over 30 years, our founder Lotty B knows a thing or two about which fabrics are most comfortable and durable in tropical climates. Our focus on comfort and durability has led us to select breathable, natural fabrics wherever possible, and otherwise opt for recycled materials to minimize our footprint and protect the natural environment that inspires us. Read on to learn more about our material choices.
Linen
Breathable and thermoregulating, linen is one of our favourite fabrics for tropical climates. All of our linens come pre-washed, making them soft on the skin, and they only soften up more with each wash and wear. Linen is also a strong fabric that is resilient to clothes moths, making it a durable choice for harsh tropical climates.
As a natural and sustainable fabric, linen is also a good choice for the planet. Linen is a very resilient crop, and as the health food sector now use flax seeds and oils, each plant is used to its full, minimising waste.
CARE
We recommend gentle machine washing, with similar coloured items, at 30° and air drying - but avoid drying for extended periods in direct sunlight. Use a warm iron on damp linen for the best results.
Never use bleach on your linens.
Recycled Polyester
We want our swims shorts to help you look and feel great both in and out of the water, and serve as your favourite swimwear for as long as possible. For this reason, we have prioritised soft, quick-dry and resilient synthetic fabrics that can stand up to harsh tropical climates, chlorine and sea salt.
Since 2021, we have used a Repreve© recycled polyester fabric made out of plastic waste retrieved from the ocean for the production of all of our swim shorts.
CARE:
We recommend cool machine washing, with similar coloured items, at 30°. Hang them to air dry naturally and you won't need to iron. Avoid excess rubbing, wringing and tumble drying and don't use bleach.
Silk
Breathable, natural and lightweight, silk is perfect for hotter climates. It is also incredibly durable, believed to be the strongest natural textile available, but is also biodegradable.
Having worked on silk for nearly 30 years, Lotty personally selects the highest quality and most suitable silk for each garment, including crepe-de-Chines, charmeuse, chiffon and twills.
CARE
We recommend that you dry clean any lined silk garment or those made from silk charmeuse, but silk chiffon, silk twill and silk crepe-de-chine can all be hand washed at a low temperature using a gentle detergent.
Never leave your silk garments to soak. Do not wring them out or tumble dry them.
Fine Bone China
Fine bone china has a rich history tied to heritage and prestige. Traditionally favoured by royalty and high society, one of it's most distinctive features is the delicate, luminous translucency. Yet, despite its refined appearance, fine bone china offers exceptional strength and a beautiful, smooth texture - combining durability with elegance. An excellent choice for both everyday use and special occasions.
CARE:
Prevent thermal shock by avoiding sudden temperature changes. Wash by hand using mild detergent and lukewarm water, avoiding abrasive scrubbers, or if using a dishwasher, choose a gentle cycle. For detailed cleaning instructions please click here

Performance Furnishing Fabrics
Constructed from a combination of Olefin and polyester, our indoor/outdoor Performance Fabrics are free of PFAS yet inherently stain and UV fade resistant, offering interior level quality, and upholstery choices durable enough for the outdoors.
CARE
Our Performance Fabrics are easily cleaned with any household soap and water. For more stubborn stains (such as red wine or permanent marker), bleach can be used and it will not discolor or harm the fabric.
